Tangerang Migration Deports 19 Foreign Nationals Suspected of Being Involved in a Love Scam Syndicate

jpnn.com, JAKARTA - The Tangerang Class I Special Non-TPI Immigration Office has foiled an online fraud attempt under the guise of a love scam, allegedly operating in Teluknaga District, Tangerang Regency. A total of 19 foreign nationals (WNA) were apprehended by the Tangerang Class I Special Non-TPI Immigration Office from an apartment in Teluknaga District, Tangerang Regency, on Friday (May 8) at around 10:00 PM WIB. The action was taken after Tangerang Immigration received intelligence information regarding suspicious activity by a group of foreign nationals that could potentially disrupt security and public order. After obtaining information A1, we immediately responded quickly by moving to the target location and coordinating with management and local security forces to conduct immigration surveillance," said Hasanin, Head of the Tangerang Class I Special Non-TPI Immigration Office, Wednesday (May 20). Of the 19 foreign nationals arrested, 15 were Chinese nationals, one Taiwanese national, one Malaysian national, one Vietnamese national, and one Cambodian national. "We conducted immigration surveillance at several apartment units and successfully located 19 foreign nationals. Based on our field investigation, we suspect these 19 foreign nationals are part of an online fraud syndicate operating under the guise of love scams that previously operated in Cambodia," he explained.
